This 1860's Carriage House was recently converted into an all electric, energy efficient little house built with lots of reclaimed, reused and upcycled materials. We spent a lot of time on every detail and created a space that is inspiring and funky, yet serene. The house is located on a quiet residential street in the Magoun Square neighborhood of Winter Hill. The carriage house is a free standing private building next to our family's home, set back from the street at the top of the driveway surrounded by a garden space. It has a private entrance. A parking spot in the driveway is available if needed. The first floor includes a kitchen with an induction cooktop and small mini fridge with small freezer inside, kitchen table, living room area and coat closet. The bathroom and bedroom are on the second floor along with a second closet. The house if fully furnished and full stocked with kitchen supplies. linens and towels. Upstairs is a very comfortable queen size bed and an equally comfortable queen size pull out couch on the 1st floor. The Magoun Sq MBTA stop on the Green Line and the community path are a 3 min walk away. Tufts is 2 T-stops away. We are also in close proximity to Harvard and Lesley, and an easy commute on the Green Line to Emerson College or Suffolk University. We are walking distance to Davis, Union, Porter, as well. Magoun Square has great restaurants like Daddy Jones (awesome outdoor patio in the summer) and Old Magoun Saloon, as well as Float for some sensory deprivation tank relaxation. There is a CVS in Magoun Square, and down the street is a great little food market called Neighborhood Produce. Sarma, one of the regions BEST restaurants is walking distance, as are lively and fantastic Highland Kitchen and 3 Little Figs Cafe. Arts at the Armory is around the corner. Check out the Saturday Winter Farmer's market there and an endless array of events. Somerville always has some fun civic events happening throughout the year. Our carriage house has been on AirBnB in the past and has gotten only 5 star reviews.
