Private, fully-furnished apartment with one bedroom and one bathroom, conveniently located just one mile from Harvard Square. It is in a quiet residential neighborhood, near the shops and restaurants of Huron Village and the park and supermarkets at Fresh Pond. There is a small, sun-filled kitchen and a separate bedroom with a queen-size bed, dresser and closet. The kitchen has a gas stove, refrigerator, toaster and coffee maker. There is a washer and dryer in the apartment, and there is a small, private balcony. The bathroom functions well but is small and somewhat dated in style. A window air conditioning unit is provided in summer. The apartment sits on the second floor of our three-story, 120-year-old home. It has a private entrance and stairway from outside on the ground floor. Three of the apartment's walls are exterior, with many windows admitting sunlight. The fourth wall is interior and is shared with our home. The floor and ceiling are also interior and shared with our home. Logistics Basic cookware, dishware, linens, blankets and pillows are provided. Biweekly cleaning service is included. Absolutely no smoking. We do not provide a television. Rent includes high speed wi-fi and all utilities. For stays longer than 3 months, rent and inclusion of utilities are negotiable. Though we prefer rentals that are one month or more, we will consider weekly rentals (at $1400 per week) when the unit is available. We require the signing of a rental agreement, as well as up-front payment of the first month of rent, last month of rent, and $500 security deposit. We typically respond within 48 hours of the inquiries we receive. If you haven't heard back within that time, please check your spam folder. Location We are in an area known as Huron Village. Even though we are only a 20 to 25 minute walk from the urban districts of Harvard Square and Porter Square, our neighborhood is very quiet and green. Within a few minutes' walk there is a quaint collection of local shops, including a toy store, some good restaurants, and some outstanding cafes and gourmet food shops. A ten minute walk in another direction brings you to Fresh Pond Reservation, which is great for a stroll or a jog, and is adjacent to a large shopping area with a Whole Foods, Trader Joes, CVS and TJ Maxx. Harvard University and Harvard Square are reachable by pleasant, 20-minute walks. There is also frequent MBTA bus service to Harvard Square, and from there the MBTA subway (red line) connects to MIT and downtown Boston. Bike access from our location is excellent. It is a two-minute walk to the nearest Blue Bike bike-share hub, and we are two minutes away from new, separated bike paths that connect to Harvard Square, Harvard University, and the Charles River Bike Path, which in turn connects to downtown Boston. We are also a few minutes from two rail-trail paths, one that connects to the shops and restaurants at Arsenal Yards in Watertown, and another named the Minuteman Bikeway that travels ten miles west to the historic village of Lexington and beyond.
