We are renting our beautiful family home for the Fall 2023 semester (Aug. – Dec. 2023) while we reside at another university as visiting scholars. The house is ideally suited for an individual, couple, or family on a short-term stay in Michigan or someone new to the area who is looking to buy a home. The house is fully furnished and you will feel at home immediately in our welcoming community. The neighborhood is a rare gem, a walkable, three-street cul the sac where children play on the streets and neighbors know each other, close to Lake Lansing and 410 acres of public park, ideal for swimming, boating, walking/hiking, and cross-country skiing in the winter. Michigan State University is a 15-minute car ride / 35-minute bike ride away and is situated in downtown East Lansing, where you can enjoy shops and restaurants and college life. Excellent daycares and public schools in Haslett, Okemos, and East Lansing. The house has a great open room concept and fabulous windows all across the back for plenty of light! A 4-season room, large deck (ideal for eating/playing/lounging outside), beautiful yard and trees! Tile-floor entrance hall, open-floor-space living area and dining room, connecting with a well-equipped open kitchen with dishwasher and a fantastic espresso machine. Windows all across the back, i.e., lots of daylight! Access to a large, recently renovated deck (incl. outside dining table set and a grill) with a short flight of stairs leading into a spacious yard. Fully finished basement with sofa bed; laundry room with washer and dryer; furnace room. Basement connects directly to the garage for convenient, immediate access during winter. On the 2nd floor, a master bedroom with a king bed, a crib, and view on the yard, a walk-in closet, master bathroom with shower, second bathroom with bath/shower, and two children’s bedrooms. The first children’s bedroom has a toddler bed. The second bedroom is currently used as an office. We have a spare king and a single mattress available, so if you would like a larger mattress or mattresses in those bedrooms, we can put those in for you. Additional half bathroom available on first floor. Two office spaces in 4 season room and second bedroom. The house is child-proof; toys and books are available if you woud like.
