Terraced family home near the centre of historic Salisbury

Wiltshire, England, United Kingdom
Rates from GBP £1500 | Monthly

House | Entire Home
Available Dates:
From May 1, 2024 until June 30, 2024

Description

My wife and I are former diplomats. We have greatly enjoyed our retirement in this quiet city, and have very much appreciated its cultural delights, with the superb choral singing in the cathedral on Sundays, the many concerts there and elsewhere, the nearby theatre and the Chalke Valley History Festival in late June. Wiltshire offers wonderful scenery for country walks. Cranborne Chase, some 20 minutes drive to the south-west, and the New Forest - 20 mins to the south-east - are both especially attractive. The house is like a London terrace house with two flights of 14 stairs each leading up to the first and then second floors, so is not suitable for those with mobility problems. Its location just 7 minutes walk from the station gives easy access to trains to London, which is 90 minutes away (trains run every hour or every half hour at busy times). We have a house in France where we will be spending May and June 2024 and are looking for a US academic (with or without family) who would like a central Salisbury base to explore the UK during this period.
