Apartment in Nézignan-l'Évêque, Herault

Description

The apartment is on one level. There are 2 double bedrooms each with a heated bathroom and toilet. One bed is a large double of 1.6m width, the other a standard double of 1.4m width. One bedroom can be used as an office and we can provide a workdesk and chair. There is a large walk in cupboard in the corridor with a hanging space for bicycles and plenty of storage. There is a 30 m sq living area with a fully equipped kitchen. The dining table is extendable (shown in the photo unextended). A separate utility room houses a washing machine. There is use of a drier. The apartment is well insulated, cool in summer and warm in winter and it is heated by radiators powered by a heat pump. The apartment is within a large garden. It faces west so has evening sun and there is the possibility of dining in your own outside area facing fruit trees. There is no vis a vis. There is multiple parking including for camper vans or caravans. The village has a school, library, grocer, baker, cafe and 2 restaurants. It is close to the A75 and A9 motorways which go to Béziers, Narbonne and Montpellier. There is a bus service every 2 hours to Pezenas and Adge. From Pezenas there is an hourly bus to Meze and Montpellier The apartment is brand new completed August 2023. The mattresses are brand new. The apartment has its own independent entrance directly - all on the flat. The outside pool is available May to October. We are retired academics. We live in the main house above the apartment. The ceiling of the apartment is sound insulated so noise is not a problem. Pézenas is an architectural gem with a renaissance centre. It is an arts and theatre town and Moliere lived and worked there. Montpellier is mainly 19 century city with an ancient part and the oldest medical school in France. It has a large teaching hospital and is a centre of excellence in cancer. Béziers is the oldest city in France and has excellent shopping. It hosts an annual 5 day festival. Agde is a an ancient Greek city and Cap d'Adge a major holiday resort. Nearby is the Haut Languedoc national park and the Caroux and Espinouse mountains. There is freshwater swimming at Lac du Salagu and Lac de Reviage. Saint-Guilhem le Desert, a small integral medieval village popular with tourists is a 30 minute drive. The Cevennes start in Herault. There is great walking and cycling possibilities nearby. Meze has a child friendly small beach and there are many huge beaches within 10-15 miles. There are sandy beaches and rocky coasts. The area is known for water sports, snorkelling and sailing in the sea and lakes. There is riding and golf. Narbonne and Nimes are roman cities and Narbonne has a great Roman Museum. Montpellier and Rodez have good galleries with contemporary and classical art. Marseilles is 2. 5 hours by car and the Spanish border is under 2 hours. We have airports at Beziers, Montpellier, Nimes, Carcassonne and Perpignan. Fast trains to Paris go from Montpellier.
