We have a fabulous home in Edinburgh just 20 mins from the centre, and as we are now empty nesters, we are looking for someone to rent one of our spare bedrooms. We are nearest to Kings Buildings, and also in walking distance to the University of Edinburgh city centre campus. We're a bus ride from Napier, St Margaret's or Heriot Watt Universities. This would suit a mature student or visiting academic. Simon works at the University of Edinburgh, and we are in a quiet neighbourhood, perfect for concentrating on studying. The room is big and bright, with a double bed, sofa, small fridge and kettle. You're welcome to use all our kitchen equipment, and there will be cupboard space for you. In winter it will be cold, your office/library will definitely be warmer, and it isn't suitable for working from home. You will have use of the family bathroom, with bath and shower. Most of the time, no one else will use this bathroom, but when we have guests or family staying, you will be sharing this. We'll give you plenty of notice when this happens. We are looking to rent the room for Semester One, Sept.2026-Dec.2026. The bedroom we are offering is about 32 square metres. Shared space includes our kitchen, with washing machine, microwave, cooker, oven etc - I love cooking so we have plenty of equipment. Our home has lots of space, and a big garden with summerhouse. We're a couple of minutes from a bus stop with regular buses to the Royal Mile, Princes St, Leith, Portobello and beyond. Locally we have great neighbourhood shops, cafes and pubs. There are 3 big parks within 30 minutes, and of course the whole of beautiful Scotland within reach as well. Edinburgh is an amazing city, there's always lots of art, theatre, music etc going on. There are lots of independent restaurants, and all different kinds of places to drink. It's a UNESCO World Heritage site - there is history just all over the place. And beaches and mountains are just a bus ride away as well. If you are interested, please email. Comments: Our home has large rooms, high ceilings and big windows. It's a peaceful place to live. In the winter, it can be very cold, so this is not a place you can work from home - your office or library will undoubtedly be warmer.
