The house features a master bedroom with a queen-size bed and walk-in closet, and a second bedroom that can be configured either as a writer's study or as a kid's bedroom. There's a washer and dryer. The full kitchen includes a dishwasher and everything you need for cooking, and the adjacent living room provides a cozy place to socialize, read, and reflect. Outside, you share our sunny yard, and have access to a fire pit, bench, outdoor furniture, and a tranquil garden. There's a private outdoor nook in back of the house if you're looking for a nice place to take your morning coffee. A screen and fences provide privacy -- you won't believe you're in the middle of a city! Our friendly shepherd-husky mix also uses the yard. He doesn't bark and loves everyone. You won't need a car for daily life. There are four grocery stores less than 1 KM away, including a Trader Joe's, a fantastic greengrocer, and two Safeways. BART is 1 KM away, and the UC Campus is an easy 1.3 KM walk or bike ride. If you enjoy cycling, we're at the foot of the Berkeley Hills to the east, or you can head west to the Bay Trail. Elementary, Middle, and High Schools are an easy walk. There are convenient playgrounds, parks, and a public pool and running track. In addition to Chez Panisse, we have great pizza, Thai, Chinese, Italian, and more -- just minutes away. With a walk score of 94, this is truly one of the best places in the USA to live without a car. This is not a party house. You can seat four for dinner in the eat-in kitchen, and the living room will fit five or six people at most. There's no TV. Because the cottage is secluded behind fences and trees, it doesn't get a tremendous amount of light, though the mornings give you nice southern and eastern exposure.
