My home is stylish and comfortable with lots of good art and cozy places to read. A well appointed kitchen opens up with sliding glass, floor to ceiling doors to the garden. A green velvet window bench is a good reading spot as is the green bean bag chair in the rear corner of the garden that is a sun trap in the afternoon. The west-facing living room is a nice place to have a cup of tea, watch the sunset and say good bye to the day. The Mission oak library table and office chair make the middle lounge a good place to work. Up the stairs is one large, light filled double bedroom overlooking the garden with an ensuite bathroom and my collection of black and white photographs, and a perfect kid-size single bedroom with a huge window. (Also my favorite spot to read / take a nap.) The master bedroom is one more flight up in an architect-designed large, light filled space, from the bed of which you can see the sunrise. I've recently acquired the perfect piece of art for the space up there. Even though the house is in central London, the birds chirping in the morning can be quite loud, especially in Spring time. Kensal Rise is a trendy neighborhood just north of Notting Hill and Holland Park, and next to Queens Park, known for its cute cafes, shops and pubs, and The Lexi, its an independent cinema. Public transport links are excellent with two different stations and lines service all directions of London. The house is roughly equidistant from Kensal Green Station (Bakerloo line to Piccadilly, Oxford Street, Paddington, Baker Street, etc) and overground to Euston station, etc) and Kensal Rise Station (Clapham - Stratford overground goes to Hampstead, Kew Gardens, Wimbledon). There are very frequent buses to Notting Hill Gate where I get the Central Line). I rent my house out while I spent time at my home in Iowa City, Iowa and while I've not used this website yet, I've had a good experience on Airbnb where I have nearly 30 5-star reviews. I enjoy finding nice people who will appreciate staying in a lovely home in North London. If you play tennis like me, I can tell you where the good public courts are.

Comments: 20 minutes from Central London, close to Queens Park and Maida Vale, great public transport links (15 mins to Hampstead Heath), close to Heathrow airport.
