This house is owned by a retired school superintendent and teacher who will be living in Paris for a year. Literally steps from the ocean and a world class golf course, yet an easy and very scenic drive to local colleges. The house boasts a large master bedroom with two walk-in closets and a full bathroom, two smaller bedrooms with a shared full bathroom, a dedicated office with two full-sized desks, a living room with a piano and bar, a dining room, and a gourmet kitchen and family room with 75" TV and fireplace. The house is in a gated community (Ocean Colony) with 24 hour staffed entry, so it is quiet and very safe. The backyard looks onto the first fairway of one of California's finest golf courses, yet it is extremely quiet and serene. There is off-street parking (no garage). It is truly a writer's (or artist's) retreat and is perfectly suited for anybody who enjoys cycling, jogging, swimming, bird watching, or surfing. The house is two miles from the charming community of Half Moon Bay, where you can find excellent restaurants, boutiques, and wine shops, as well as three large supermarkets. A few additional miles up the coast is the fishing village of Princeton Harbor with fine restaurants and brew pubs. A short walk takes you to the world famous Maverick's surf break that attracts big-wave surfers from around the world. We love this house for its roominess, solitude, and proximity to nature while also providing easy access to the culture and bustle of San Francisco, Palo Alto, and Silicon Valley. Personal effects shown in pictures will be removed (except for the piano, kitchen and dining equipment, linens, etc.) before occupancy.
