Visit pre-historic dolmens found along paths and marvel at the cave paintings of Peche Merle, offering a profound connection to our ancient humanity. This region is the birthplace of Jean-François Champollion, the brilliant mind who unlocked the secrets of Egyptian hieroglyphs. Day trips to museums and chateaus are punctuated with lunches are fine cafes and restaurant, and there is always an easy bike ride to the world heritage site, Saint Cyr Lapopie just 10 k from the house. Nestled within a 210-acre forest and field expanse, La Bouriette offers an serene rural sanctuary, bordered by farms, but not far from a bustling small village with all the amenities. The heart of this country property is a renovated stone farm complex, designed with both simple comfort and conviviality in mind. It is an ideal place for gatherings of friends and family. The main building houses three cozy bedrooms on the top floor with both interior and exterior staircases. The main level is devoted to communal joy and culinary delight, featuring two inviting sitting rooms and dual terraces that extend the living space into the great outdoors. At its heart, there is a spacious kitchen and dining room, equipped with a prestigious Godin stove that promises culinary adventures and unforgettable meals. The grand dining hall, with its echoes of Occitan heritage, invites you to dine in a setting that blends rustic charm with grandeur. The property offers ample space for unwinding under oak trees or engaging in sports, soccer and boule, or swimming in our 15-meter-long pool. Inside one can simply enjoy the warmth of the large fireplace with a glass of local Malbec, or cup of tea. The charm of La Bouriette extends to an attached building that houses two additional rooms, each complete with bathrooms, offering privacy and comfort for more guests. Our property is truly a retreat that promises a blend of tranquility, cultural immersion, adventure, and the joys of rural life.
