Quiet heritage-listed 5BR home, walking distance to USyd

This timber home is in one of Sydney's oldest neighbourhoods, built originally as a cottage in 1876 and updated over the years, most recently with two extra bedrooms and one extra bathroom in 2026.. The house is filled with character but does express its age in some unique ways, including creaky floorboards in the kitchen and some uneven angles around the corners. The house is at the end of a quiet street in a lovely residential neighbourhood, surrounded by parks and green space. The house normally accommodates four children, ages 10-18, but we are happy to help make the house fun for smaller kids if need be. The back of the house has a kitchen, sitting room, and dining room, filled with afternoon sun. We also have a piano, recently tuned. There is a nice garden, often filled with flowers and vegetables. The house is about a 20 minute walk to the University of Sydney and a bit further to UTS, probably best by bus. There are small shops and a few grocery stores within a walking distance, and also several busses nearby. There are a few walking paths just next to the house. One of these leads through a few parks and within 15 minutes or so you reach the Tramsheds (shopping and dining complex) and then Glebe foreshore. The foreshore path leads in a few directions, allowing for several kilometres of walking or biking -- all the way to the Opera House (and beyond) if you like! We also have four bikes available for your use if you like: 2 adult e-bikes, one adult mountain bike, and a kids bike (currently fitting our ten year old).
