A pleasant and inspiring location to admire the beauty of Istanbul

Description

The apartment for rent is the lower duplex of the 4-storey, old Turkish style villa we have been residing in happily for many years. We're in the upper duplex and share a small front garden with the residents of the lower duplex, and the residents who have occupied this lower duplex so far were all very pleased to be our tenants and to live in this peaceful neighborhood distant from the crowded and chaotic city center. The Apartment has a partial view on the beautiful Bosphorus, is quite spacious (2x80 m2) and quite comfortable with a large living room, kitchen (with pantry) and small WC in the upper floor and 3 bedrooms and a large bathroom in the lower floor. All 3 bedrooms can be used as offices as well but the one in the back doesn't have much light as opposed to the other two overlooking the garden which receive a lot of sunlight. The biggest bedroom has a small shower room inside and a direct access to the garden. The downside to the pleasant view from the Apartment is the steep road you have to climb from the Seaside; luckily, it's not very long; it takes about 10 minutes with a slow pace. There are several mid-size shops about 15 minutes on foot; pleasant cafes and some restaurants are also along the sea some 15-20 minutes away on foot. Online delivery is also quite common in istanbul. Recently, several municipal libraries have been opened in nice locations both in Beykoz and in other districts of Istanbul. Although the Apartment is not at the city center, there are frequent buses and boats to many locations and the most distant central locations take about 45 minutes to 1 hour to access by public transport. The boat trips along the Bosphorus with its beautiful Ottoman style villas and mansions are especially a delight...Hourly boat services to Yenikoy, a district on the European side just across the Bosphorus from Beykoz take only 10 minutes and give you a much larger selection of cafes, bars and restaurants, as well as different walking itineraries, museums, libraries, mansions... The University that is closest to the Apartment is the Turkish German University (Türk Alman Üniversitesi - TAÜ): only 1,7km, so at a walking distance. Koc University is 6,6km from Sarıyer pier and there are regular boat services between Beykoz and Sarıyer. Bogazici University's Anadolu Hisari campus (on the Asian side of Istanbul) is about 10 km from the Apartment, and its North & South campuses on the European side of Istanbul are 18 km away from the Apartment and accessible by public transport via Anadolu Hisari - Aşiyan (Bebek) boats (+ funicular for the North campus). The following furniture & appliances are present in the Apartment: A double and two single beds, a very large & comfortable L shaped sofa, 3 small tables (one in the kitchen, two in the living room) and chairs, 3 office desks, ADSL internet connection, Washing Machine, Dishwashing machine, Refrigerator, Oven & Stove, Microwave Oven, Vacuum Cleaner, Coffee Machine, Kettle , kitchenware, bedsheets, towels ... We live just upstairs from the Apartment, so we can help you with any problems or questions you may have. I am a retired Electronics engineer / researcher, My partner, who is a very resourceful person :), has retired recently, he was working at a materials test center under Sabanci University as a technical responsible. The district of Beykoz is one of the greenest among the districts of Istanbul and you find yourself surrounded by the forests of a rural Black Sea panorama after a 10 minute car ride from the apartment. The historical Woods close to the center of Beykoz is also very refreshing on hot summer days... Your stay in our apartment promises to be a pleasant experience and a good opportunity to get to know locals while living in a relaxing spot and focusing on your work...
