Fantastically located for work and play in the heart of one of London’s most lively communities, this cosy two-bedroom family home, is tucked away in a peaceful, tree-lined street in a sought-after area between fashionable Shoreditch and vibrant Bethnal Green, on the edge of Central London. Within easy reach of all the East London Universities and, in the other direction, those of Central London, we are near tube stations for the Central, Northern, District, Hammersmith and City, Circle and Elizabeth lines and several branches of the Overground, a ten minute bus ride from Liverpool Street mainline station with trains to East Anglia and two stops from Kings Cross St Pancras with trains to the North and to Europe. The neighbourhood Green is at one end of the street, and Haggerston Park, with its City Farm and fabulous new playground and sports amenities, is over the road. Delightful Columbia Road with shops, boutiques and cafés and its celebrated Sunday flower market is a street away, and Victoria Park, and many of London's best restaurants, live music venues, cinemas, cafés and bakery-shops are within walking distance. Fully furnished with our books, carpets and paintings as well as solid wood furniture gathered over the years, we have an open-plan living/dining area with a dining table that comfortably seats six, and a fully-equipped south-facing kitchen that opens onto a lovely south-facing garden with a beautiful cherry tree. Upstairs are two double bedrooms (one recently redecorated) and a shower/bathroom. A 'Dutch airer' pulls up into the ceiling of the stairwell, for drying laundry out of the way. Both bedrooms have desks - a legacy of lockdown - and the dining area downstairs also works well for office work when the house isn't too full of people. We have a printer and wifi connection to the TV. Our neighbours are close on all sides (and friendly and helpful - we have a street whatsapp group for trouble-shooting and taking in each other's deliveries), and the bedrooms and kitchen are all double-glazed to ensure peace and quiet. Even in Winter this family home is full of natural warmth and light. We have loved and cared for our house, and are looking for someone who will love it too, and forgive it for its worn corners, while we are away. We will provide all the linen, towels, kitchen and cooking paraphernalia; everything you could possibly need and more, so that you can move in with one bag and be comfortable for your stay here.
