This gorgeous fully furnished house is available from July 2026 for 6 months (a shorter or longer duration can be considered). I am a semi-retired academic, who will be away for several months. This availability has come up and I am looking for a couple or family who will enjoy staying in this lovely spacious house. The house has 5 bedrooms (three doubles and two singles, one of which can be easily converted into a study), 2 bathrooms, a large and fully equipped kitchen, 2 living areas, a gorgeous large back veranda, and a lovely garden with lawns, mature trees, vegetable garden, tree house and a pool, complete with pool-slide. I have family nearby who will be happy to answer your questions and call in if anything is needed. The house is on a leafy, quiet street. It is a few metres from Laurel Avenue, regularly voted Brisbane's most beautiful street. This is a great area for walking and biking, with lots of trees and heritage listed houses. Families love the area and you will meet wonderful neighbours on your walks and biking expeditions. My home is well-equipped and tastefully furnished, but nothing is 'precious'! It's a family-oriented, easy-living kind of house. In particular, the large veranda at the rear of the house provides a wonderful and peaceful outlook, complete with sitting area, dining table and chairs, and an enticing hammock. You will enjoy alfresco dining or just drinks at sunset by the pool or on the large and inviting back veranda. The house is fully equipped with bed linens, furnishings, kitchenware, books and music. I also have 5 bicycles available to suit your family. The house features (mostly) polished wooden floors, with lots of fans, and air conditioning in the living and dining areas and in one of the bedrooms. The back garden is flat and very usable, for badminton, boule and other games. There's even a fabulous treehouse for the kids. Travel to the University of Queensland (nearest university) is easy: a 10 minute drive, 25 minute cycle, or using public transport. Other universities nearby are QUT (Queensland University of Technology) and Griffith University. Normal market rent for a large house like this in this prestigious area of Brisbane would easily be above $1500 a week. I am asking for rent from $1000 a week, and this would include garden maintenance and pool attention if required. You will pay your own electricity (I have an extensive solar panel system, so the bills are not too expensive) utilities and water bill. Internet is included in the rental price. Brisbane is a dynamic modern city, with a lazy winding river and a distinctly tropical feel. You can visit the stunning beaches on the Sunshine Coast or the Gold Coast very easily. Also nearby are some inland mountains with rainforest walks and fabulous views. There is a range of excellent primary and secondary schools nearby, all of which can be reached very easily. Shopping mall, cinemas and great cafes and restaurants are nearby. You can walk to these or take the train; the train station is 7 minutes walk from my house. I will arrange necessary pool maintenance, but occasional skimming to remove leaves from the pool will be much appreciated. It's a relaxing job, especially if you're already in the pool!
