Cat lover wanted for room in Finchley, north London house

We are a friendly professional couple looking for a single person to occupy a room in our house, at a reduced rate in return for caring for our two cats when we’re away. The room is a smallish double (9.5m2), clean, warm, comfortable, quiet and recently decorated, with a double bed, wardrobe, desk, shelving and a garden view. You will have an adjacent bathroom and separate shower room for your private use, and shared use of our open kitchen, dining and living room, garden and laundry facilities. When we’re away you’ll have the house & garden to yourself, and when we're not, we have a second living room so we should be able to give each other space as required. Our house is in a quiet residential street in north Finchley, 10-15 minutes walk from West Finchley or Finchley Central underground stations, on the Northern Line. The West End is about 30 minutes travel by underground. There are several buses (incl. 13 to Baker St, Marble Arch & Victoria, 263 to Highgate, Archway, Holloway etc.) about 5 minutes walk away, and a large range of shops, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants are likewise very nearby. We have a local cinema & leisure complex, and some great arthouse cinemas easily accessible. The nearest academic establishments are London Metropolitan University, Central St Martin’s (Archway site), City University, Middlesex University, and the British Library. All central London Uni’s (eg. University of Westminster, University of London, Notre Dame, UCL) are an easy underground ride. We will often be away, usually for long weekends, and at such times we need to know that our two cats will be well looked after. They’re affectionate, low-maintenance (no cat tray!), but they need feeding and someone to notice if they’re unwell. Consequently this lodging will suit a quiet, self-sufficient, non-smoking, ideally mature adult who likes cats, plans generally to be around, understands that the room is offered at a lower rate on this basis, and would welcome those times when they are alone there. It would not suit someone with significant travel plans or who is often away at weekends. The room is offered on a self-catering basis, with all bills included. We have a fortnightly cleaner, but otherwise you’ll be responsible for taking care of your rooms. Ideally we’re looking to let for a few months, but all being well might continue indefinitely.
