Private room/bath in artistic, beautifully appointed 1924 rowhome

You will share the 5 bedroom 4 bath solar-powered, environmentally conscious home with me and my beloved, imperious Aussie Shepherd mix rescue dog Sasha. Sadly, no pets as Sasha suffers from intense “only dog” syndrome! You would have your own tastefully decorated private bedroom with walk-in closet and renovated private bathroom on the second floor. There’s also a TV room that can double as a study. My study, bedroom, and bathroom are also on the second floor on the other side of the landing. There’s a spacious backyard with a garage for bike storage. You would share the fully equipped older but fully functional kitchen (all kitchen/dining ware provided) and living/dining spaces and have a dedicated refrigerator. All bed linens/blankets/towels would be provided if needed. All utilities/wifi/cable is included in the rent as well as a bi-weekly cleaning service. My friends tell me I’m a pretty good cook, so that’s an added incentive! I live in the lovely, Progressive, diverse community-oriented Northwest DC LGBTIQ+ friendly neighborhood of Petworth. It is a wonderfully friendly neighborhood with a welcoming spirit and the neighbors are very friendly, warm, and helpful. There’s lots to do in the neighborhood including music festivals, a farmer’s market, and great indie stores. My ideal house mate would be: - **non-smoker - **absolutely no-drugs -** no heavy drinking; social drinker is fine - a dog lover is a must! -no loud parties and multiple people in the house -no loud music - an academic fellow, researcher, intern who is into social justice/human rights/public health/arts/sciences/humanities would be wonderful. International colleagues would be very welcome! - while I’m outgoing and host small dinner parties, gatherings, and and game/trivia nights with friends on the weekends, I work a lot and would like someone who respects a quiet environment for working. The home is a lovely 1924 rowhome and is a three minute walk to a park. It is in a very walkable, friendly neighborhood with excellent public transportation that makes it easy to access downtown. There’s a bus stop that takes you downtown to the Petworth Metro (Yellow/Green line) about 5 minutes walk from the house. It’s about a twenty minute walk to the Petworth metro.
