Our home is an upstairs condo in a two-unit 19th century New England home with two bedrooms—one with a King size bed and walk-in closet, the other with a bunk bed—and one bathroom. The large office has an adjustable desk, Aeron ergonomic chair, and large computer screen ideal for writing or remote work. The living room has two daybed couches. If a third bedroom with a twin-size bed is desired, we can move one to the office, which can be enclosed with sliding doors on either side. The kitchen and dining area have many windows overlooking tall trees and neighborhood gardens that give it a treehouse feel. We renovated the kitchen last year, adding new tiles, countertops, and appliances. Bathroom is functional and has a clawfoot tub. We installed a heat pump last year that will keep you warm in the winter and cool indoors as temperatures rise in Boston. We love our neighborhood (Cambridgeport), which is quiet and residential, yet close to grocery stores, restaurants, public transit, and a quick drive to the I-90 freeway. The Charles River offers kayaking, stand-up paddle, and sailing blocks away. Nearby Magazine Beach Park offers picnic areas and an outdoor public pool overlooking the river in the summer. For academics, Boston University, MIT, and Harvard are all close by and accessible by foot, bike, or public transit. Both Cambridge and Boston are expanding their bike trails and Blue Bike system. There is one Blue Bike hub two blocks away from our home making bike travel in the area very convenient. Multiple art and science museums provide fun activities for kids and teens year-round.
