Charming, cozy purple house surrounded by gardens, centrally located in the friendly and quiet downtown Southside neighborhood. The home is fully furnished with colorful walls, vintage wallpaper, and plentiful art. Original oak wood floors throughout. Downstairs has a small mudroom in the entryway, a living room perfect for time with family and friends, a dining room that seats six (or more), and a recently redone kitchen with new quartz countertops, terra cotta tile floor, dishwasher, refrigerator, and gas range. In our current configuration, we have a bedroom, two offices, and a nursery upstairs. The attic is storage and a guest room, along with a little sitting/play area. We currently have cats and will do our best to de-fur, but this home is not ideal for folks with cat allergies. Choose from multiple outdoor spaces to spend more time outside and experience all of Ithaca's four seasons: enjoy a south-facing sun room; hang out in the private fenced backyard with a firepit patio, bench tucked away among climbing roses, blueberry and raspberry bushes, and 4 raised garden beds for growing vegetables; lounge and dine on the generous front porch, where you can chat with friendly neighbors and listen to Six Mile Creek directly across the street. There is a detached one-car garage with a garden shed attached and a one-car driveway, as well as ample free street parking. At the end of the block is a community park along the creek where you can spot ducks, geese, herons, and occasional beavers. The home is within walking distance of multiple playgrounds, including a skatepark and the historic Southside Community Center. The neighborhood is great for living car free, with a 10-minute walk to restaurants, bars, and the Wegmans grocery store. Cornell, Ithaca College, and the Ithaca Farmers Market are bikeable, particularly with an e-bike.
