We are a family leaving our much-loved Oakwood Village home for a sabbatical year and are looking for a wonderful family or professional couple to live in and care for it while we're away. Ideally, we'd love to find tenants for the full August 16 to June 30 term, though we welcome stays of 28 days or more. This is a genuinely warm, characterful home that has been thoughtfully furnished and lived in with care. From the custom-renovated mudroom with its live-edge bench and built-in storage, to the botanical wall mural in the primary bedroom, and tasteful artwork throughout, there are details here that make it feel like home, not just a rental. The main floor offers a comfortable living room with an oversized sectional, a dining area with a solid wood farmhouse table that seats up to eight, and a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove, hanging pot rack, and butcher block island, stocked and ready for you to create beautiful meals and make it your own. A 40" flat screen TV is available on request (streaming-ready, cable not included). A renovated powder room and in-unit stacked washer and dryer round out the main floor. Upstairs are three bedrooms, all with blackout blinds and hardwood floors. - The primary bedroom has a queen bed and wardrobe armoire. - The second bedroom has a bunk bed with trundle, and ample storage space - perfect for up to three children. - The third bedroom has a loft bed over a full desk workspace with shelving, ideal as a home office or older child's room. The full bathroom upstairs has a tub with rain shower head, and good storage. Outside, a covered private patio with string lights, a gas BBQ, and outdoor table and seating, looks out over a lush backyard with a Japanese maple and mature lilac tree. It's the kind of outdoor space that becomes your favourite room in the warmer months. The neighbourhood is one of Toronto's best-kept secrets, multicultural, walkable, safe, and genuinely community-minded. Steps to the St. Clair streetcar and Dufferin bus, 25 to 30 minutes on transit to U of T downtown campus and George Brown College (15-20 min drive), and 35 to 45 minutes to York University on public transit (30+ min drive). Earlscourt Park with its community centre and pools is a short walk away, as is the picturesque Cedarvale Ravine. A few things worth knowing: - Private parking pad on site (included) - The cozy backyard functions beautifully as an extra room in the warmer months, covered, private, strung with lights, and anchored by a gas BBQ – ideal for lounging, working in an outdoor office space, and entertaining. - The basement is reserved for owner storage. The street is a quiet residential one with recent traffic-calming measures installed nearby, a reflection of just how many families and schools are in the area. You're connected enough to feel the energy of the city, with St. Clair and Dufferin just steps away, while the street itself stays calm. Nearby schools include Rawlinson Junior Public School, St. Clare's Catholic School, Oakwood Collegiate Institute, Hudson College, Leo Baeck Day School, and Lycee Francais de Toronto. A local property manager is available on call for any issues during your stay, with a backup contact as well. Utilities are included with a $250/month cap. Tenants are billed separately for overages.
