This Green Garden Sanctuary is a quiet, leafy cabin at the end of a long, semi‑wild garden in Florence Park, one of Oxford’s most friendly neighbourhoods. It’s a self‑contained, en‑suite space with simple cooking facilities (fridge, sink, air‑fryer) and a baby grand piano, making it a natural fit for people who value calm, green surroundings more than a TV or city buzz. I’m looking for guests who are largely self‑sufficient but appreciate a welcoming atmosphere. You’ll have your own entrance through the garden, and the space is set up so you can hide away and focus when you need to – writing, reading, practising, or simply resting. There’s also room for shared time: I enjoy cooking, and by arrangement you’re welcome to share whatever I’m making, as long as you’re happy with simple, healthy, home‑cooked food. This space tends to suit: - Musicians who’d appreciate access to a piano and a quiet place to practise. - Writers, academics and researchers who need somewhere settled and calm to think and work. - People who love gardens and green spaces, and would enjoy being surrounded by trees, plants and birds rather than television or nightlife. - Guests who are environmentally conscious and happy to recycle and share in basic “green” habits like composting and low‑waste living. The garden itself is shared: I use it and occasionally host friends there, but it’s long and rambling enough that there are corners for privacy as well as places to sit together. I like a quiet life, and I’m looking for someone who can fit into that – interesting and respectful, happy to chat over a cup of tea or a meal now and then, but equally comfortable spending time alone and being unobtrusive. There is no TV in the cabin, and the atmosphere is more “retreat” than “holiday park”: if you’re looking for somewhere to work on a project, prepare for a term, practise music, or simply have a calm base while you explore Oxford, it can be a very good fit. Couples are welcome, though for longer stays the space is better suited to one person most of the time, with partners visiting during their stay. If this sounds like the kind of environment you’re drawn to – green, quiet, friendly, and gently eco‑minded – you’re likely to feel at home here.

Comments: Quiet garden cabin with baby grand piano in friendly Florence Park, within easy cycling distance of Oxford and Brookes. Peaceful leafy retreat from academic life, with local cafés, park, and good bus/river links into the city.
Comments: Towels and bedding provided; optional weekly clean available. Guests may use washing facilities in the main house. By arrangement, you are welcome to share whatever I’m cooking – simple, healthy, home-made meals.
Comments: Limited parking for non‑residents, but good bus links and easy cycling into town; nearby rentable scooters and a secure bike shed (with a spare bike available). Well suited to one person, with partners welcome to visit during their stay.
The garden is wild and rambling, I do as much with it as I have time for, if you enjoy gardening you're more than welcome to help out or take on a project of your own!
