An executive residence for visiting Harvard and MIT faculty, biotech executives, and relocating professionals. The house sits in The Port, the Cambridge neighborhood between Central and Kendall Squares. It is a real neighborhood — residential streets, kids on bikes — and it abuts Rose Park, with its dog meet-up scene and tennis and pickleball courts. MIT is a ten-minute walk. Harvard is one Red Line stop from Central Square, or a half-hour walk up Mass Ave if the weather cooperates. Kendall Square and its labs are fifteen minutes the other direction. You can get to a seminar, a lab, or a meeting without ever thinking about parking. If you love food, this is a great location. Central Square and Inman Square are both walkable, and between them you have Oleana, decades of institutions, and a steady supply of new openings. Lamplighter Brewing is around the corner. Formaggio Kitchen is nearby for anyone serious about cheese. H Mart and a Monday farmers market cover the cooking. Toscanini's covers the ice cream. The Red Line at Central puts you in Boston in ten minutes and at Logan in thirty-five. This is the heart of Cambridge, and everything runs on foot from here. We're a biotech executive and a CEO who are empty nesters. For years, work meant going to an office in Kendall Square; now we both work remotely and split our time between Nantucket and Boston, where our grown children live. We finished this house for ourselves, to our own standard — the chef's kitchen because we cook seriously and often (one of children is an executive chef), the Rumford fireplace because we believe in the family hearth (which is designed to cook with as well). It's a home we built carefully and no longer need to be near the office to enjoy. We're looking for a renter who notices the difference. Someone who appreciates a well-finished house and will treat it with the same respect they'd give their own. In return, you get a home that's been genuinely loved, from owners who are responsive, nearby, and easy to deal with. If that sounds like you, we'd be glad to hear from you
