This coastal location is about 15-minute walk to the Santa Cruz Harbor, beaches, and restaurants. Three beautiful parks and the Simpkins Family Swim Center, with an Olympic-size pool and fitness facilities, are about 10 to 15 minutes away. Bus stops are also nearby. Convenient, free street parking is available directly in front of the house. About the Room The 121-sq-ft room is fully furnished plus closet, queen-size bed, and premium mattress. A dedicated full bathroom with shower is located across the house. Home and Household Dynamic You will share a welcoming, progressive home with the owner, a German professional who works full-time from a home office. I value open-mindedness, respectful communication, cleanliness, and consideration for each other's space and schedules. This is intended to be a warm, respectful home rather than simply a transactional living arrangement. Everyone is welcome to enjoy their own space, while occasional shared meals or casual dinners are welcome if we both feel like it. Work-From-Home and Quiet Hours Because I work from home, Monday–Friday, 9 AM–6 PM must remain meaningfully quiet. Loud activities and high-bandwidth use, including online gaming or loud streaming, are not compatible with the home during these hours. Daily Living and Respecting the Space • Shoe-free home; indoor shoes/slippers welcome. • There is no cleaning service. • Please clean up and wash dishes immediately after cooking/eating. • Shared household supplies such as coffee and tea are shared expenses and split fairly. • Please be mindful of water and electricity use and avoid unnecessary consumption. • No pets, smoking, or drugs. Guests and Entertainment Overnight guests require advance approval. Parties or social gatherings must be approved in advance. Bathroom and Kitchen Supplies Fresh bathroom towels are provided. Tenant provides personal toiletries and groceries/food. Occasional shared meals are welcome. Parking and Errands Free street parking is available directly in front of the house. If schedules align, we can occasionally carpool for grocery or household-supply shopping. Lease and Financial Details Fixed-term lease: 2–3 months, or up to 8–9 months, with the possibility of longer. Outside of work, I lead an active lifestyle and am highly involved in the local community. I’m a passionate Cuban salsa dancer and serve on the board of a local nonprofit organization.
