I'm a Boulder native, a composer and pianist. I stay part time in the next door apartment. I am mostly retired from piano teaching, but teach an occasional adult student on my Steinway grand. I am a rabid environmentalist and living a low-carbon footprint life is very important to me. Since this has been my home for 36 years I take pride in the flowers and the trees that give the house so much character and charm. I value privacy and independence above all, but am also a people person and I like to get to know my guests and to be readily available for any concerns or issues that arise with the apartment, but mostly prefer a hands-off approach to companionably sharing the Duplex. Silence is golden in my book, and I prefer a very quiet lifestyle without a lot of comings and goings, and definitely no parties. I think of the apartment as a writers or scholars retreat, and so I am very careful about how and when I have rehearsals, lessons or piano practice next door. I am very solicitous of my renters comfort and quiet, and hope that they would feel the same way about mine. My father founded the Romance language department at C.U. and I grew up as a 'university kid', taking lessons early on with C.U. faculty and attending countless events on campus. If you like getting around by bicycle, the location of this apartment is ideal. I love to use my bike to get to the public library, and I even get to many food stores as possible by bike.
