An oasis of an apartment... With wonderful views onto charming church square, closed to traffic, but just a hop away from cafes, trams, and subways. Wonderful place to stare out windows, listen to music, and relax while you plan your next Berlin adventure. Elevator (1/2 flight of stairs). Right on the border between Prenzlauerberg and Mitte). This apartment really is a home, a home for people who like walls filled with books in at least 5 different languages, with ficus trees to remind whoever is lounging on the couch that living things do thrive in this bustling metropolis. The rooms that make the apartment are the living room (with a small balcony) and the master bedroom. Each look out onto Zionskirchplatz, such a charming and unique Berlin view with the 19th-brick church surrounded by trees and the 1960s iconic TV tower (Fernsehturm) in the far background. There is a small hallway dividing the apartment in two. On the southeastward facing side: the aforementioned living room/ dining room and master bedroom. On the northwestward looking side: the small guestroom (bed big enough for 2), bathroom (with nice bath and washing machine), and kitchen (with dishwasher, electric stove, oven, refrigerator, fully utensiled). The apartment is on the 3rd floor (4th floor American), with an elevator that takes you up, but there is a half a flight of stairs from the elevator to the apartment... so not very handicapped accessible. Hi-speed wireless internet and TV. I have speakers in the living room and master bedroom that you can connect to for playing music. The tram lines on Kastanienallee (2 minute walk) will take you to Mitte, Museuminsel, Prenzlauerberg, and a couple of S Bahn stops that will thereby connect you to the whole city. You can access two different U bahn lines within a four block distance. There are numerous grocery stores in the vicinity, with markets on two adjoining squares, and so many cafes and restaurants within a stone's throw that you will wonder if the Berliners do anything else but eat and drink. I lived in many different areas of Berlin, but I think the combo between the quiet of this square, the beauty of its views, and its closeness to so many things makes it hard to beat if you want to love Berlin.
