This duplex flat is in a unique, quiet development in a secret, green oasis set in prize winning gardens and just across the road from Hyde Park, one of London's largest parks, with quiet small streets around the development. It is 2 minutes walk away from the centre of this busy metropolis with a boulevard which has all the urban facilities of shops, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, and public transport around it. The development is surrounded by mature trees and accessed through three locked iron gates in an old wall. There is no through road, but there is access to the underground parking, where there is a parking space available as an optional extra. Free parking space can be arranged for your guests on the ground level for up to 24 hours. The flat is accessed both by lift or open air stairs and walkways. The lower floor has an open plan living room, dining and kitchen. By the entrance is a small separate utility room with a freezer, and a washing machine. On the upper floor there are two double bedrooms and the bathroom. The master bedroom has a double bed (queen size), and the second bedroom has two single beds as well as a pull-down computer desk with a comfortable office chair, shelves, and a printer. This can be used as a small home office. All you hear at night is the hoot of an owl. When you wake in the morning all you hear is the sound of bird song. It is in a true oasis of calm and beauty. The flat has a large terrace running its full length, with an electrically controlled green and white striped awning for comfort during the summer. The 3rd (American 4th) floor terrace is like an outside room for eating at the outdoor dining table and chairs, and relaxing overlooking the trees and gardens. Also, down in the award-winning gardens, there are benches and lawns with space for quietly working or meeting friends and family outside in the warmer months. The post is delivered to the door daily and the rubbish is collected twice a week from your own exterior, closed bin storage. It is comfortably furnished with everything you might find in a normal home and we live nearby for any urgent needs. Walking in the secondary streets of central London is walking through one of largest and most beautiful areas of 18th and 19th centuries' classically disciplined architecture still in existence in London. London's Park and Ride bicycle facilities are nearby for non-walkers or just for exploring. There is a good street market within easy walking (10mins) distance for fresh, cheap fruit and vegetables. For those in a hurry, there are many small specialised shops and supermarkets, some staying open late at night. We have two large, good supermarkets, Waitrose & Tesco. Marble Arch tube station and many buses to all parts of London are 5 minutes walk away, as are the shops, cafes and multi-cultural restaurants of all kinds. Many places such Paddington station, St. Mary's Hospital, the Royal Academy, the Wallace Collection, Handel's house, the Wigmore Hall are all within easy walking distance (5-15mins.) St. Pancras Station (Eurostar), the British Library, the V&A, Natural History Museum, the British Museum and the central London theatres are for slightly hardier walkers (30mins), or a short bus ride. I regret that no pets are allowed in the development, but London squirrels and many birds are common visitors. The rent includes all taxes, utilities, internet etc. except an optional monthly charge of £30 for cleaning.
