Welcome to the vibrant neighborhood of South Harlem! Our one-bedroom apartment is located on Madison Avenue, just a few blocks north of Central Park. This is the perfect location for those looking to experience the rich cultural history of Harlem, while also enjoying the convenience of being near one of the city's most famous landmarks. The apartment is newly renovated and features all the modern amenities you need to make your stay comfortable. You'll have a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable living area, a full-size bed, and air-conditioning in each room. The neighborhood is rapidly becoming more upscale, and you'll find new constructions and development happening all around. In our neighborhood you'll also be able to enjoy the proximity to Central Park, the Apollo Theater, and many walkable food venues – Michelin ranked restaurants included. Additionally, our home is conveniently located between two major subway lines that will take you practically anywhere in Manhattan in 15-25 minutes. We enjoy that our apartment is tucked away just enough to be considered peaceful but is also located such that we have ease of access to anything NYC has to offer. Most of the residents living in the building are owners and all help take care of the small community we live in. There is access to a private courtyard where you can picnic, meet neighbors, and find a nice quiet spot to read. Our building has a secured entrance with a doorman who is on duty at all hours of the day. About Us: Exploring new places is one of my favorite things to do. Up until last year, most of our explorations have been in North America. After an amazing time in Greece last year - with Milos, Greece, and its breathtaking beaches being the highlight – we have gotten the bug to explore much more of Europe. My wife and I have a long list of destinations we're eager to visit, and we'd love for your home, town, and country to be part of our next favorite experience. As a full-time math educator, I enjoy delving into economic studies in my free time. I'm an active person and love being in the water, hiking, and discovering the rich history of the places we visit. My wife finds relaxation through yoga, theater, and reading. She's always eager to learn new languages and discover new cuisines to taste and explore. We enjoy the buzz of new cities but also enjoy the peacefulness that natural areas can provide too. Vacationing in a city center would be at the top of our list, but an exchange along the coastline would be a close second. We've just welcomed a newborn into our family who is 10 months old. We're excited to begin sharing what this world has to offer! We have done one exchange with a wonderful couple from Paris and really enjoyed everything about the experience - including meeting up with them in NYC. We're looking forward to creating wonderful memories and we’re excited about the opportunity exchanging an apartment can have for all!
