Austin 1BR+Study Sabbatical Swap: Girona/Costa Brava

I am a retired professional/academic from Austin, Texas, who deeply values culture, continuous learning, and peaceful exploration. I am a single, non-smoking traveler who treats every home with the utmost respect. While I travel solo, I may occasionally host a family member as a guest for a short visit during my stay. My main goals for this trip are to immerse myself in the genuine Catalan way of life, step outside the typical tourist bubble, and actively practice and strengthen my limited Spanish-speaking skills. I am seeking a direct 3 to 6-week home swap within the window of January to May 2027. I am highly flexible on the exact setting—I would love a walkable apartment in Girona's historic city center, a village home in coastal spots like Begur or Tossa de Mar, or a property nestled in the surrounding countryside, Mediterranean Sea view a plus. Essential & Desirable Elements: The Authentic Touch: I am exclusively seeking a traditional home swap (not a sterile vacation rental or Airbnb) to get a true flavor of daily life in Spain. Winter Readiness: Reliable home heating and standard utilities are essential to comfortably handle the cooler winter or early spring months. I will be providing full heating and utilities for you in my home as a fair trade. Laundry: A washing machine is essential. A mechanical clothes dryer (tumble dryer) is highly desirable due to the winter weather, or a dedicated, well-heated indoor space for air-drying. Transportation: A car swap or access to a vehicle is highly desirable so I can easily explore the stunning Costa Brava landscape and neighboring towns. Peace of Mind: I am happy to provide excellent personal and home exchange references. I am currently updating the house exterior but the look is the same and I will switch out pics as completed.
