We are an Oxford-London academic couple. For years, the 'Oxford one' has commuted to work from our home in London, and now we want to put that into reverse for a while. Our home is a fully furnished three-storey townhouse in Stoke Newington, close to Finsbury Park, one of London's major transport hubs. The house has three double bedrooms, two offices, and a spacious living room leading to a quiet Japanese-style garden. It is a calm, light-filled house designed for comfortable living. The location is particularly convenient for academic work in London, with straightforward access to the British Library, University College London, and other central London institutions, while also working well for the City legal and financial districts. All of London's major theatres, concert halls, galleries, and museums are within easy reach. Stoke Newington itself is an historic neighbourhood with a village feel. It has excellent local amenities, including green spaces (e.g. Clissold and Abney Parks), shops, cafés, and restaurants. On the Oxford side, we are ideally looking for a home with garden in central Oxford, Jericho, or North Oxford, but we are willing to consider other Oxford locations, and the garden could be small. We need two bedrooms and two work spaces. Stairs are not a concern. This is intended as an non-commercial, collegial exchange, suitable for a sabbatical, visiting appointment, or longer-term professional relocation.
