Large (for Brooklyn) 1BR APARTMENT perfect for an individual or couple (though I think a couple with a small child could make it work as well)! The windows, the expansive view, and the full-glass balcony door also make the place feel larger than it is (and the location on the 18th floor gives you a feeling of being--literally, in this case--above it all). In the living room, you'll find a large, comfortable couch; small desk area that overlooks most of Manhattan, North Brooklyn, and Western queens; a glorious (says me) wall of books (which you're welcome to read); and a large TV connected to an awesome Sonos sounds system, which makes film and televisual entertainment an absolute blast. This is also my home, which means it doesn't look or feel like one of those furnished-by-AI AirBNBs. The kitchen was also remodeled, and is equipped with a great stove, cool sink, lots of fussy coffee appliances (Fellow Opus bean grinder, OXO gooseneck kettle, etc.) and lots of good-quality pots, pans, etc. There is a full bath (sink, tub/shower, toilet) and the building has a full laundry room downstairs with loads of brand-new machines. The bedroom has a queen-sized Thuma Japanese-joinery-style bed frame with a glorious WinkBed luxury-firm mattress, and I'll make room in either the closet or the credenza (or both) for your stuff. There's both heat and AC units in the bedroom and living room, both of which can be used extensively without adding to any costs (all utilities are included), and I've got loads of blankets, pillows, sheets, etc. as well. While the apartment itself is great, where it truly shines is in its location. I think of my immediate area as blissfully "in but not quite of " Williamsburg: In other words, you have easy access to all the good things--parks, restaurants, bars, shops, cultural institutions--that this part of Brooklyn offers, but you're mostly (I think) free of its obnoxious excesses: The tech bros and international cadres of the idle rich mostly live on the North Side, and that's also largely where the weekend influx of drunken college students party too. There's a supermarket and pharmacy on the corner, you're surrounded by cafes, restaurants, and bars. And, perhaps best of all, you've got the JMZ line essentially two blocks away while the G is even closer, and the L is a tenish-minute walk away. You can get to the Lower East Side or East Village in about 15 minutes (depending on the trains that day) and my frequent commute to Midtown rarely takes longer than 35 minutes and it's all on a single train (so you can relax and read instead of rushing to a transfer). There is, though, one BIG potential caveat: There is both a firehouse and police station on my corner. The good news: That means, in case of any emergency, the response time should be near-immediate. The bad news: Depending on the frequency and/or intensity of any nearby emergencies, my apartment can be LOUD if the firetrucks have to use their airhorn and/or the cops have their sirens on. If you're staying during the winter, it won't be too bad because the windows will most likely be closed at night. But, while I can sometimes go a whole week without hearing any sirens or horns, if you're looking for a silent little out of the way place, my apartment is probably NOT for you. And I want everyone to ask me any questions about this they need to--because, well, I don't want you to have any surprises after you arrive. (I just use at night earplugs if it becomes a problem....) Also, as stated earlier, both the price and dates can be somewhat negotiable depending on what you're offering/need, so let's talk. PS: I realize I forgot to include pics of the bathroom. I'm currently in Berlin, but I'll add a few as soon as I get back in late July.
