About Us Our children have left the nest, and we are now ready to extend our travel horizons. We want to offer our house for exchange for one to three months at a time. Our first destination is ideally south-west England, where we enjoy hiking and bicycling. Availability: April to early December 2027 Our House A typical "between the wars" Melbourne family home on a single level with front and back yards and easy-to-maintain gardens. It has been renovated and has all the comforts you would expect in a family home—but no spa or swimming pool. We live on a quiet street with friendly and helpful neighbours. Bedrooms & Bathrooms Master bedroom: en-suite with shower/bath, wardrobes, and a study nook overlooking the front garden and street 3 additional bedrooms, each with wardrobes. One bedroom has been converted into a study Full bathroom with shower Guest powder room Internet & Technology Internet speed: 54 Mbps down, 18 Mbps up. WiFi throughout the house—easily copes with streaming, video conferencing, and working from home Living Spaces Main living area: combined kitchen, dining, and family room Dining table: seats 8 with the extension Lounge seating: 6+ around the 55″ TV Formal lounge: no TV, perfect for settling in with a book Kitchen & Laundry Large, functional kitchen with: oven, stove, microwave, fridge, and dishwasher Combined laundry/walk-in pantry with washing machine and dryer Outdoor Spaces Backyard: BBQ and outdoor table setting under a shady tree, seats 8 people—perfect for entertaining Backyard is secure for children Climate Control Gas-fired hydronic heating for winter months Reverse-cycle air conditioner for summer Winter in Melbourne (June–August) is famous for being "4 seasons in one day"—our heating takes the edge off that! What's Provided Linen and towels are provided Pantry stocked with non-perishables—please replace what you use Disclosure items!: This is not the biggest house on the street, but it fits a family of 5. Nor is it a show house—it's a genuine family home where a family has been raised. You will get to know us just by looking at the walls! It's a relatively quiet part of Melbourne, perfect for raising children, not a bustling centre of nightlife which is just a tram ride away. We don't provide a cleaning service. We don't have pets. Back to the Positives: Location, location, location! We are very close to trams, trains, and buses that can get you into the vibrant centre of town or the many university campuses around the city. Access to Melbourne's extensive cycle paths network are a few hundred metres away—perfect for exploring or commuting . Walking distance to shops and a wide variety of dining options: Italian, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and traditional fish and chips. If walking or riding is not your thing, we can discuss swapping a car.
