We are a couple with two cats who are looking to spend one to three months of sabbatical in a natural setting near a town with personality. We are offering our spacious, historic, art-filled New Haven home in exchange. We are available to swap any month between March and August, very negotiable within those times. Our home is over four thousand square feet, with hard wood floors, bathrooms on every level, and beautiful century-old architectural features. The gardens are landscaped with native plants. The property is adjacent to Yale University campus, but, when you're here, you feel like you're in a sanctuary. We have lived here with two cats for seven years, and we're ready to spend some time getting to know a New England town within a few hours of driving distance. Our neighborhood is full of personality, with local cafes, grocers, and parks, and nice residents. There is extremely easy access to the campus, downtown, the interstate, and the rail lines down to NYC and up the coast. We have a baby grand piano (in tune!), nice kitchen appliances, laundry in the basement, and multiple bathtubs as well as showers. We have had many guests here over the years, and the amount of room for hanging out as well as working alone is very generous. We have recently repainted the first floor (and will upload pictures of that soon!). The attached photos give you an idea of the house, but the art and furnishings have changed a bit. Happy to do a video walk-through with seriously interested people.

Bringing mail in would be lovely.
The gardens are landscaped with native plants and should be self-sustaining. But if there is a drought during this time, we'd appreciate watering.
