Description

We are working at another university so our lovely, well-furnished historic house will be available. This lovingly maintained home is perfect for one to three people. The house has comfortable, quiet, private office spaces for concentrated work. The location provides straightforward access to the University of Arizona and to Banner-University Medical Center and Banner-South. This historic, double brick and stucco Spanish Colonial Revival house is located in the Rincon Heights National Historic District. You can walk or ride a bike 4 blocks north to the University of Arizona campus and to Banner-University Medical Center. The house is perfect for visiting writers, academics, doctors, or visitors who appreciate a well-furnished, high-end historic house with easy access to all that central Tucson offers. Our well-maintained main house was built in 1928. It has a master bedroom, an office room, and two bathrooms. An excellent kitchen with new appliances is adjacent to the comfortable dining and living rooms. The small original bathroom in the main house has a tub. The other is larger with an Italian tiled shower that shimmers under its own skylight. The quiet main bedroom has a comfortable California king-sized bed with a deluxe latex mattress. The other bedroom is located in the separate casita and has a “full” size single bed. The artistically-gated driveway leads to a covered parking for one vehicle with room for another on the side of the house. There is off-street room for additional vehicles. Front and back covered porches and outdoor patios are perfect for morning coffee and reading. There is a large sitting room with a huge north window that look onto a landscaped backyard with hummingbirds. The main house has cove ceilings, oak hardwood floors with colorful rugs, and well-designed lighting. The living room has a lovely sofa and fireplace. The private backyard has a massive hand-crafted mesquite table suitable for dinner parties. There is a new, quiet, central air conditioner to provide extra summer comfort and we have solar panels as well. For cooking, there is a new gas stove and range hood, a large new refrigerator, and quality cooking equipment. A large maple cutting board countertop next to the stove makes meal preparation in place a joy. A lovely copper counter rounds out this remodeled kitchen. In the back patio, a deluxe Weber gas barbecue with a smoker and a separate burner for a pan provides another cooking option. The detached (630 square feet) Casita was built in the back garden in 2005. For working from home, both the main house and Casita provide choices of desks and workspaces, all with fast internet thanks to the new mesh system. In the Casita, there are two private office areas with doors, so simultaneous zoom meetings are possible. Each office area also has openable French doors to the patio. A laser printer with scanner is provided so you can print wirelessly from any location. There are many comfortable reading areas in the house and in the Casita with windows and skylights providing good quality outdoor light. The combined kitchen/dining area of the Casita has a table, sink, small refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. A large new washer plus a dryer are also found in the Casita. The Casita has two final highlights: a large bathtub for two as well as an outdoor shower. The utilities (gas, electricity, water, and internet) are all paid by the owners; reasonable utility use is requested. The main house and Casita both have central heating and air conditioning. This lovely house and its gardens are in an amazing location with easy access to the University of Arizona, the Banner-University Medical Center, and the 4th Avenue and historic downtown shopping and entertainment districts.
