Description

OVERVIEW This south-facing, luxurious terraced house has all the comforts of home, including a private back garden and front door, yet it's a 10-minute walk to the British Library and the Eurostar. Near the squares of Bloomsbury and the transport links of Kings Cross and St Pancras, in the heart of London’s vibrant Knowledge Quarter, this beautiful home will enable you to relax and enjoy a restful, safe, and productive stay. Walk to Covent Garden, the British Museum, and the numerous colleges of Bloomsbury. FEATURES In this fully renovated house, the front door opens onto a sunny foyer, with glimpses of the back garden. Up the stairs and past a sash window is a sunny living room alongside a cosy office that serves as a spare room. On the main floor is a cook's kitchen with separate dining room and gas fireplace. On the lower ground floor is the main bedroom adjoining a large bathroom with separate laundry area, renovated in 2023 to include a freestanding tub, walk-in rain shower, underfloor heating, and storage. Doors to the front and rear offer outdoor living in the heart of London. The bespoke kitchen is fully equipped with easy-close drawers, a pull-out pantry, open shelving, task lighting, quartz countertops, an orange backsplash, induction hob, convection oven, and Miele dishwasher and fridge-freezer. The south-facing main bedroom has a (British) king-size bed with reading lamps, goose down pillows and duvet, two cupboards with double rails, dressers, a mirror, and a large sash window and door onto the adjoining terrace fitted with a table and 2 chairs. All linen and towels are top quality. The second bedroom has a (British) queen-sized bed, desk, reading lamp, and a sash window facing the back garden. The front room is bright and cosy with a large sofa, comfy chair with footstool, several reading lamps, and a coffee table as well as a television with cable, BBC iPlayer, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and several other apps. The dining area has a Mathew Hilton table and chairs that comfortably seats 6-8. There is also an antique desk with stationery, and bespoke shelves. The courtyard garden to the rear of the property is fitted with an oval table with seating for six. This inner courtyard provides a sunny space for air drying clothing as well as a tree-covered outdoor oasis on warmer days. On cooler days, the chiminea warms this cosy living and dining space sheltered by jasmine- and hydrangea-covered garden walls. The roof was replaced with Welsh slate in 2016; the German boiler is efficient and runs from an app. The house is on a quiet street, with a park and school across the way, so guests can easily work at home, yet there are coffee shops, a dry cleaner, grocery stores, a pharmacy, and post office, as well as theatres, libraries, and cinemas within walking distance. INTERACTION WITH GUESTS Keys will be posted to you ahead of your visit. We are a short drive away and always contactable by e-mail. PUBLIC TRANSPORT Six bus lines are served by stops moments from the house. An 8-minute walk away are King’s Cross and St Pancras stations, with six underground lines as well as national and international rail service. PARKS & SQUARES London is known for its garden squares and it’s worth checking out Granary Square behind Kings Cross as well as the more well-known Russell, Bedford, Tavistock and Gordon Squares, all of which are within easy reach of the house. Regent's Canal is five minutes away, while Regent's Park is roughly a 30-minute walk, with Primrose Hill and Camden Market just a little further beyond. SUPERMARKETS Waitrose, Sainsbury, and Tesco can be found within easy walking distance and Ocado will deliver to your door. HOUSE RULES You will be staying in a small street with permanent residents. Please respect others' needs for privacy and quiet. No smoking allowed, please.
