We are academics at the University of Cambridge. We have a lovely Victorian semi-detached home in the best area in Cambridge. The Mill Road area has many independent cafes, restaurants and shops, and a strong community spirit. Our street is quiet, and yet just round the corner from all the amenities. There are two fantastic parks nearby with brilliant facilities for children. The centre is about 20 minutes by foot or 10 minutes by bike. The train station is a 5-10 minute walk away and there is a direct fast train into London. On the first floor of our home there is a king size bedroom with two large sash windows with wooden shutters, kingsize bed with premium quality pocket sprung mattress, fitted wardrobe, wooden floor and a decorative Victorian fireplace. The second bedroom features a sash window with wooden shutters, wooden floor, a large beautiful solid oak chest of drawers, desk and chair, and decorative Victorian fireplace. This bedroom can accommodate either a single bed or two single beds without the desk. There is a small modern bathroom with both single spray and rain system shower over the bath, a toilet and wash basin. The ground floor is open plan with two connected living rooms, there are wooden floors throughout, a large double sofa bed with pocket sprung mattress, an armchair and cupboards and bookshelves built into the alcoves. There are two fireplaces, one with a decorative woodburner (not in use) and the other with original exposed brickwork.There is a large kitchen-diner with bi-folding doors that open out on to the garden. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, large American style fridge-freezer, large five ring dual fuel range stainless steel cooker, kettle, toaster, coffee maker and cooking equipment. There is also a separate utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer and a separate ground floor cloakroom with WC and sink. The garden is south west facing which has plenty of light and makes the best of the afternoon and evening sun. It has a small shed with bikes and a lawnmower. The garden is mainly grass, with a flower bed in front of the shed, an apple tree and a patio. It is wonderful to open the bi-fold windows out on to the garden.
