Our light and spacious apartment has everything needed to make you feel right at home in the heart of Berlin. It’s perfect for two people, with an additional sofabed for occasional guests. The apartment is fitted out in style, including a high-spec media system, landline phone, broadband wifi and two internet radios. It’s located in a quiet residential area, with excellent transport connections for Berlin and beyond. The apartment comprises: a large main room, semi-divided into a sitting room at one end and a dining room at the other, with a study area in between; a large double bedroom; a large separate study with a guest sofa-bed. There’s also a fully fitted kitchen, bathroom, entrance hall, a hall between the bedroom and study, and a stunning balcony, overlooking the treetops and with sun all day. The study and main room face east, with bright morning sun, the kitchen and bedroom west into the sunset. There are also views north to Potsdamer Platz. The apartment has been lovingly refurbished, with a solid oak floor, air conditioning and new appliances. It’s well insulated – cosy in winter (it has its own boiler for heating and instant hot water) and air-conditioned in the summer. Entrance hall: coat and shoe rack; full-length mirror; large storage cupboard (with vacuum cleaner, clothes rack, iron and ironing board). Kitchen: fitted kitchen with kettle, toaster, Kenwood mixer, fridge-freezer, gas oven and hob, full-size dishwasher, washing machine, internet radio; table and barstool. Main room: dining area with oak table and chairs, bespoke cupboard and hifi; study area with adjustable office chair; living area with couch, beanbag and cubboard; media centre (55-inch OLED TV with satellite TV, Bose home cinema sound system, AppleTV and DVD player). Landline phone (with free calls to the USA and to landlines in Germany and Europe); high-speed broadband with wifi hub. Balcony: unusually large, with direct sun from dawn until early evening, and shade on one side from late morning. Teak table and two chairs, plus two folding wooden chairs. Gas barbecue available on request. Study: desk, adjustable office chair, bookshelves, beanbag; double sofa bed with bedside cabinet; drawers. Bathroom: sink, toilet, deep bath with full-height shower, cupboards. Bedroom: 160cm bed, dressing chair, double wardrobe, drawers, bedside cabinets; internet radio. The apartment is on the top (fourth) floor of a pretty 1920s building; it was converted in the 1990s and fully renovated in 2010. It’s in a quiet residential area, about 1.5km from Tempelhofer Feld (the old airport, now Berlin's largest park, great for walking, jogging, biking etc.), and very well connected. Südkreuz station is less than five minutes’ walk, with direct S-Bahn trains to the city centre (c. 10 minutes to Potsdamer Platz, Brandenburg Gate, Friedrichstraße), Brandenburg airport terminals (c. 30 min.) and stations on the ‘Ring’; direct intercity trains to e.g. Dresden, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich and Prague. The A100 motorway (c. 20 min. to the airport) is close enough for quick access, but far enough not to be audible. There are three supermarkets within walking distance, a bakery just down the street, and other local shops (choice of bakers, butcher, delicatessen, bike shop etc.) at Platz der Luftbrücke, 20 minutes’ walk or 5 minutes by bus or bike; there’s a big Ikea and Bauhaus (DIY/garden centre) about the same distance in the other direction. Two nice areas for cafes and restaurants are Akazienkiez and Bergmannkiez, each about 10 minutes by bus/bike. There are plenty of cycle racks outside (front and back), and a large communal back garden. Street parking is unrestricted and unproblematic. Minimum term 2 months, maximum normally 6 months (negotiable). We handle bookings ourselves, but a property agent in Berlin manages arrivals/departures (also on call throughout your stay).
