Bright renovated barn, surrounded by olive groves, 10 km from the center of Florence. With private garden, surrounded by organic olive groves, easily accessible from the city center by bus to the town of Antella then 1 km on foot, 10 minutes from the highway exit. The garden space, though a work in progress, is usable and enjoyable. Naturally cool in summer and warm in winter, equipped with underfloor heating and a ventilation system that ensures the continuous exchange of air, it is powered by a pellet boiler, photovoltaic system and solar panels. 80 sqm, three large rooms, the kitchen and living room are on the ground floor and a bedroom on the first floor overlooking an external patio with access to the garden, a bathroom on the ground floor with bathtub, shower, bidet, WC, washbasin, a small bathroom on the first floor with WC and washbasin, independent entrance with loggia where you can sit and eat outdoors. The kitchen is perfectly equipped and two sides are almost entirely windows while on the third side there is a large arched French window, the floor is in antique terracotta tiles and the ceiling consists of large beams and tiles. In the living room, cosy and intimate, there are two windows and a skylight that lets the light through from the first floor, the floor is made of bamboo and the ceiling is made of wood, there is a sofa bed (140X180cm). The living room is accessed by a staircase to the bedroom also with bamboo floor and wooden beamed ceiling, consisting on three sides of windows, all except one with the typical brick designs of Tuscan barns. In the bedroom the bed is double (180X 190). The barn is furnished with antique furniture and paintings from our family. Pay attention to the stairs: there are 4 terracotta steps without railing between the kitchen and the living room and a suspended staircase of 15 steps between the living room and the bedroom. The barn is located 10 meters from our house, (although it has a private entrance and garden). Our house is the farmhouse and the barn was, historically, it's stables. The core of our house consists of a church dating back to 1400, the former church of St. Bernard, deconsecrated since the 50s, today a large space of 75 square meters that houses the headquarters of a social promotion association that carries out cultural, educational, environmental and wellness activities for all ages. For ten years we have been taking care of "San Bernardo" and its barn, the open spaces are in continuous evolution and still being planned. Both inside and outside we try to take care of details, we love simplicity in the choice of materials, our countryside is authentic, gentle but wild. Around the barn over the years we have encouraged the growth of a wide variety of wild plants such as poppies, borage, dandelion, plantain, chicory, chard. In our fields live roe deer, hares, foxes, badgers, squirrels, boars. If you are looking for a place where silence reigns supreme, this is not the right place for you! Ours is a restful countryside full of peace, but also full of activities ... and the beauty is that the town of Antella is near, and especially Florence, of which you can see the dome of the cathedral.
