I am a London-based university professor currently on sabbatical in Berlin. I have left behind a beautiful, 3rd (top) floor 1-bed flat in a Grade II listed building in the heart of London's historic intellectual epicentre: Bloomsbury (London Zone 1). The flat is fully (but neutrally) renovated, with modern kitchen and bathroom (including bath tub). With plenty of natural light and sash windows on both sides (overlooking onto the city's famous booksellers street on the living room side, and onto a quiet back yard on the bedroom side). Decorated subtly in danish modernist style, including an 'Innovation Living' sofa bed, 'String' Shelving system and an extra-comfy tatami style double bed; as well as beautiful house plants. The flat is in the heart of Bloomsbury - one of the most historic neighbourhoods in the city; a 5 min walk to some of London's most beautiful public gardens, including Russel Square, Gordon Square, Bloomsbury Gardens, and Tavistock Square. My apartment is in the same block of flats as Vladimir Lenin's old home, and next-door to Keneth Williams' old flat. Other 'old neighbours' include John Maynard Keynes and Virginia Woolf. My ideal tenant would be a colleague from a university, perhaps visiting London on sabbatical leave, who will enjoy the feel of 'a home from home' and treat the place accordingly.
