This 3 bedroom, 2 bath home was highlighted on Durham's Historic Home Tour as an exceptional example of the Craftsman house. It has been shared with Sabbatical Homes members as we travel to be with family in Maine, or internationally with our HUG Your Baby educational program. This house is ready to be your home. It balances historic charm and today's taste for ease of care and open space. Relax in a screened porch, footed tub, or comfy family room. Enjoy ample closets, hardwood floors, and a 1900 Steinway upright piano. Walk the Ellerbee Creek greenway, or stroll to Ninth Street or Cocoa Cinnamon for coffee. Easy biking to Duke and the VA Hospital.. . . If you are in our home on a Friday, you will have access to our weekly CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) bag of veggies grown at our son's farm. On Tuesdays and Fridays (between 4 and 8 PM) neighbors will walk down our driveway to pick their CSA bag off the shelves under the carport. Enjoy a bounty of locally grown produce such as salad greens, kale, herbs, melons and tomatoes.
