A cozy early-1800s house surrounded by greenery, remodeled by a 20th century architect into an open-plan modern space as a home for himself. The house is tucked away on a small road. There are skylights, a garden front and back, and a spacious elevated back patio. A creek with a waterfall are just beyond the fenced yard. The house is full of light, art, books, and plants. It's a 15 minute walk to the heart of Cornell campus along Beebe lake, walking distance to Cornell botanical gardens, a 5 minute drive to a cross-country skiing area; also great for running. Several bus lines take you to downtown Ithaca in minutes. The house has one main bedroom with a queen-sized bed; 2 small offices; 1 and a half bathrooms; modern appliances (oven, energy efficient washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, and a projector); an outdoor grill and a fire pit. There is a convertible sofa for house guests. The house is supplied by a green energy company, and there is a set up for composting in the yard. We have 1 parking space on the street, and one covered/garage space.
