I am an author and journalist who's lived here for many years but need to be on the west coast right now. Dates flexible. Gorgeous, open and airy with spectacular view. Best neighbors imaginable. All sorts of people, including many academics and professional musicians. I've lived in countless places in New York City and elsewhere and I've never loved a place as much. Looking for someone who can care for it and appreciate it as much as I do. The winter pic was taken from out the window next to my desk. Best for one person. (Couples considered, but a single tenant is preferred.) There is an air mattress available and occasional guests can be accommodated, but apartment is not suitable for families or roommates. Location is Riverside Drive at 155th Street. Low crime, quiet, highly desirable enclave known as Audubon Oval (former James Audubon's farm). This is the best building in the area because it's on a corner across from a large green space and so has open views on two sides. Adjacent to American Academy of Arts and Letters. One block from subway at 157th Street. Four subway stops from Columbia University. Walking distance to CUNY and Columbia Medical School. Quiet neighborhood but plenty of restaurants. One block to Riverside Park.
