Light-Filled Charlottenburg Apartment Overlooking a Quiet Courtyard

Lovely, turn-of-the century, fully-furnished Altbau apartment in the premier neighborhood of Charlottenburg. Built in 1907, the apartment has original wood floors, antique doors, an archway-accented hallway, high ceilings, and tall windows that let in tons of light. The fourth-floor apartment is located in the side wing off of a manicured inner courtyard, which makes it extremely quiet. The main room is divided into a living-room area with a 50-inch TV and a dining area. In the bedroom, black-out curtains and a large bed (180 X 200) with a top-of-the-line mattress should contribute to a good night's sleep. Off the bedroom is a small room, which was originally a Mädchenzimmer, but which I now use as a study. The eat-in kitchen has a microwave, dishwasher and large refrigerator. Located in the heart of Charlottenburg, the apartment is surrounded by cafés, restaurants, bakeries, a Biomarkt and even a yoga studio. A few blocks east and south are Savignyplatz and Kurfürstendamm, with their high-end boutiques, art galleries and more cafés and restaurants. The Schaubühne, one of Berlin's premier theaters, is just down Ku-Damm. An eight-minute walk to the north brings you to the Wilmersdorfer Arcaden, a shopping complex with multiple name-brand stores, grocery shopping, etc. Getting around Berlin is quite easy. A little over 400m from the apartment are the Charlottenburg S-Bahn and the Wilmersdorf U-Bahn Stations. For the athletically minded, there is a lovely 5-6K run that goes around Lietzensee.
