Our 1700 sq. ft. three-bedroom home is located in the North Berkeley hills in walking distance to shops, cafes and gourmet restaurants (Solano Ave). Enjoy expansive views of the Bay, Mt. Tam and the Golden Gate Bridge from the living and dining room and relax in the private backyard! The house offers a sunny living room with fireplace, a well equipped gourmet kitchen with new appliances, a large dining room, a master bedroom with french doors to the private garden, a second bedroom with a desk, a large office that can be used as a third bedroom, and a downstairs room/art studio, laundry room with washer/dryer. We have a queen-size bed in the master bedroom, a queen-size bed in second bedroom, and a fold-out couch that can be converted to a queen-size bed in the office. Guests are welcome to use a printer, high-speed wi-fi internet and local telephone line. Our home has a stationary bike downstairs and offers an elective vehicle charging station. Free street parking is available. Our house is on a wonderfully landscaped property, comprising a small front yard with a patio and large private back yard with three seating areas. The garden is a quiet oasis - perfect for relaxing. There are multiple chairs, lounges, sofas, a barbecue and a fireplace. Located in one of Berkeley's most coveted neighborhoods called 'Thousand Oaks', our property is situated in a quiet residential tree-lined street with many beautiful historic homes. The neighborhood is great for walking and has many hidden paths. We live in walking distance to shops, cafes, a movie theatre, and parks/playgrounds. We are also near the Shattuck/Wine area of Berkeley known for famous eating establishments, including Chez Panisse. Our house is close to Tilden Regional Park with thousands of acres of hiking and biking trails, an 18 hole municipal golf course, and a small lake with a sandy beach - great for picnics and swimming. Berkeley has a vibrant theatre district and is home to many art galleries and workshops. The UC Berkeley campus is about 5 minutes by car and 15 minutes by bike. The bus stop for Line 7 is just up the street. Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory us nearby as well. San Francisco can quickly and easily be reached by car, express bus (from the bus stop just up the street), or BART (the fast subway system). There are many day trip options in the Bay Area: ocean beaches are 30-40 minutes away; the Napa Valley wine region is about an hour away; the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains (Yosemite, Lake Tahoe) are 3-4 hours away.
