I have a private room on the 2nd floor of my duplex that would be perfect for a grad student or travelling academic. This is a LARGE (16x20), fully furnished room with high ceilings, ceiling fan and a ton of natural light from two south facing windows. You will have your own window AC for summer cooling. The building is heated by hot water radiators and there is one in the room and the bathroom so no freezing in the NYC winter! The room has everything you need to be comfortable - king size bed with storage, night stand, dresser, desk/chair, table lamps, dorm fridge, coffee maker, microwave, plates/glasses/cups/utensils and small hutch. Linens, pillows, towels also included. Your room will have a private entrance with its own buzzer/intercom as well a locking door to the main property. There are two large closets with shelves. Full bathroom on second floor will be shared with me, but I mainly use the half bath on the ground floor and only use the bath upstairs to shower so there won’t be much overlap. You will have access to a large kitchen with all the cooking utensils you need, pantry storage and the main refrigerator. There is a quiet, peaceful outdoor space to relax as well. Washer/dryer in the apartment. I reside on the first floor, so there will be plenty of privacy for both of us. There are only three apartments in this building so it's quiet and very friendly. LGBTQ+ friendly and open to all ethnicities, culture and races. I do foster and dog sit so there may be dogs around. All dogs stay on the ground floor with me and WILL NOT have access to your space upstairs. I also do not take on dogs with serious behavior issues so any pooch staying here will be safe. Do you have a pet? I can most likely accommodate, let's talk about it! A lease agreement is required. More than happy to provide a copy for your perusal. The building is located in the vibrant East Harlem neighborhood of Manhattan. If you like Mexican, Cuban and Dominican food you can't beat this neighborhood. We also have amazing bodegas and some of the best independently-owned coffee shops in NYC. The apartment is conveniently located close to three major bus lines (M116, M15, M102) and the 6 train. Metro North is a short bus ride or 20 minute walk. Also within walking distance to Costco mall, Planet Fitness, Post Office, Thomas Jefferson Park, East River Greenway and Randall's Island. If you have a car, there is alternate side parking and a few parking garages in the neighborhood.
