We are renting out our recently renovated, first floor apartment in Kennington, a lovely village near Oxford. If you're looking for a peaceful place to stay with easy access to the city, and free parking, this is it! The apartment is fully furnished. It is ideal for PhDs, postdocs or visiting researchers at Oxford University, with good transport links to Oxford city centre. It was our home whilst I did my my PhD, but this year I have a fellowship in Denmark so we are looking to find someone to rent out for the academic (late September to late June) or full calendar year. The apartment has two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a double bed and two built in wardrobes, with a small desk. The smaller second bedroom is set up as an office with a sofa bed. The kitchen, living and dining area is open plan, and very light and spacious, with two sofas. The kitchen is furnished with a dishwasher and microwave. There is a small balcony, accessed by sliding patio doors. The bathroom has a shower over a bath, plenty of cabinet space, and a washer and dryer. The apartment is situated within a shared garden space which is regularly maintained, and the tenants are welcome to use. There is free on-street parking and a shared parking area at the back of the apartment. The apartment is situated within a 10 minute walking distance of Bagley woods, and the River Thames and the Thames Path. There are also excellent cycle links to Oxford and Abingdon, with a recently rennovated exclusive cycle path. There is a bus stop right outside the apartment which is served by the no.35 bus, providing regular access to Oxford city centre and Abingdon. In Kennington Village there is a Co-op supermarket, pub, doctors surgery, pharmacy, and several takeaway food places (Indian, Chinese and fish and chips). It is also a short walk to Sandford lock and the lovely pub/restaurant situated by the river there. The apartment is on the first floor (second floor in US terms!) and has a private entrance and staircase. For this reason it is unfortunately not accessible for those with mobility issues. Monthly payment includes high-speed, fiber optic internet running into the apartment. However, the tenant will be expected to pay electricity, water, and council tax if applicable. The apartment has electric underfloor heating, so there is no gas bill.
