Welcome to my light-filled, modern renovated apartment in a classic Parisian building — ideally located a short walk to Panthéon, Notre Dame, the Sorbonne, Rue Mouffetard, and the Seine. This is my primary home. A few times a year, when I travel, I make it available to people who come to Paris with a purpose — to study, write, research, or pursue a project. I ask only that my home be cared for with the respect you'd give your own home, or a good friend's. THE SPACE The apartment has the best of classic Parisian character — high ceilings, tall windows, original details, abundant natural light — paired with a clean, modern renovation and furnishing by an interior architect. No clutter, no dated decor. Simple and easy to settle into. You’ll have your own empty closet with hangers. The apartment runs the length of the street-facing side, so the living area, dining area, and bedroom have excellent natural light. The kitchen, bathroom, and entry are on the interior side. THE NEIGHBORHOOD — 5TH ARRONDISSEMENT, LATIN QUARTER One of the most vibrant neighborhoods in Paris, and in my view one of the best. Within a block: bakeries, butcher, cheese shop, florist, supermarket, and cafés and restaurants where it's worth becoming a regular. Three days a week, the open-air market at Place Monge brings fresh produce, meat, fish, and flowers — and the rhythm of local life. A short walk takes you to the Panthéon, the Sorbonne, Luxembourg Gardens, or the Seine. Within five minutes on foot: the Jardin des Plantes — one of the city's most beautiful hidden refuges, full of cypress trees and a botanical garden originally planted for the king's medicine cabinet — and the Natural History Museum. Around the corner: the Arènes de Lutèce, the historic Roman arena, and a coworking space inside a renovated historic mansion, open to anyone. The metro is one minute from the front door. The building is well maintained, and the neighbors are friendly and welcoming.
