Also worth mentioning: I have moved all my personal belongings into storage for the rental period. Therefore, all of the storage spaces in the apt., including the three closets, the clothing chest, and the two bathroom cabinets are free for prospective tenant(s) to use. For security & safety, in addition to the building’s double front entry doors, the keyed elevator, & the new video intercom system which allows visitors & callers to be screened prior to entry, the apt. is equipped w/a new dual smoke and carbon-monoxide detector, a fire extinguisher, an emergency radio, and has two fire-escape stairs which are accessible via the front and the back of the apt. The 2 windows that open onto the fire-escape stairs are both secured with full-sized, nicely painted security gates that open from the inside only. On the Broadway & Amsterdam blocks on opposite corners from the apt, are 2 excellent supermarkets, an array of restaurants, banks w/ATMs, a UPS store, pharmacies, cafes, wine bars, bakeries, etc. In turn, cultural centers, including Lincoln Center & the Beacon Theatre, are close by, and the Metro Indie Cinema, one block away, is slated to open later in 2026. Plus, Columbia University & Barnard College are an easy walk or a quick subway ride to and from the apt. This apt. is ideally situated for academics, independent scholars, writers, creatives as well as for digital nomads conducting research, teaching, pursuing an advanced degree, or working at a college, university, or secondary school in New York City and/or the Metropolitan area—i.e., in Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, Long Island, & New Jersey. In turn, the Catskills, the Hudson Valley, as well as the beaches of Long Island & New Jersey are all readily accessible via car or public transportation (including via the Long Island Railroad; New Jersey Transit trains; & the Metro-North Railroad).
