Each year, my mother spends the winter months in a small village in Mexico so I help manage the rental of her apartment while she’s away. She lives on her pension, so every bit helps; she prefers to rent to respectful tenants rather than list it publicly. In past years, I’ve rented it through my network of colleagues and friends, often to academics or artists in residency. The apartment is quiet, accessible, and located near a beautiful park that stays lively in the winter with recreational activities.
