This apartment is perfect for an individual or a couple - academics, professionals, creatives - for a minimum four-week stay in a quiet Valencian neighborhood, a few blocks from the Turia park and Valencia's historic centre, with easy public transport to universities, the beach, inter-city bus and train stations and the airport. The apartment is on the fifth floor in a quiet corner building that has just two units per floor, and is minutes from Marxalenes Park, beyond which a short walk crossing the historic Sant Josep pedestrian bridge takes you into the El Carmen neighborhood of the city centre. The building is accessed with an electronic key-fob or key, and a front-entrance security camera connects to an A/V intercom in the kitchen to admit deliveries or visitors. The entrance lobby has a ramp leading to the elevator, which lets out directly in front of the apartment door. The apartment has plenty of natural light and is tastefully decorated with photography, paintings, and hand-woven Oaxacan rugs and textiles. There is beautiful parquet flooring throughout. The rooms have HVAC split heating/air-conditioning units; double-glazed windows and doors are screened, with external roll-down shutters and internal blinds. There is excellent WiFi. The apartment faces north and west, with two balconies, one of which wraps around the corner bedroom, making it extra spacious and providing a refreshing breeze mornings and evenings. With two barstools and a small corner table, the balcony is perfect for morning coffee, evening drinks and light suppers. The bedroom has a Euro-Queen size bed (160 X 200 cms) that sleeps two comfortably, drawers and bedside tables, two corner closets and full-length mirrors. The living-dining area is open plan and divided by low bookshelves. One of the two matching sofas in the living room is a convertible sofa-bed that can also sleep one or two, for visits from family or friend(s). The tiled bathroom has an ample shower with secure-grip handrail and tiled bench. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a three-burner gas range and electric oven, a dishwasher and washing machine - laundry can be hung out to dry or taken to the laundromat at the street level of the building next door. The neighborhood is typical for Valencia city, with supermarkets and greengrocers nearby, corner cafes, a good bakery, and shops of all kinds. The Marxalenes park is great for strolling and has a children's play area; the nearby Turia park is a favourite of walkers, joggers and cyclists, or for watching team sports on the various pitches and playing fields. Public transportation is very accessible: EMT municipal buses stop at the street corner for short rides into the city centre (6-10 mins), EMT trams stop at Marxalenes/Reus for light-rail trips to the universities (18 mins) and Malvarrosa beach (23 mins), and both link into the EMT's city-wide metro system for access to the Nord train station and Valencia airport. All utilities are included in the rental price. There is a 50 euro cleaning charge at checkout; if you would like a cleaner to come in on a regular basis, that can be arranged at a charge of 50 euros per visit. There is no smoking inside the apartment - smoking only permitted on the balcony. Pets are not allowed, nor are large parties or gatherings.
