Hi there, We are two University of Cambridge graduates (St johns and Churchill) who have returned to this beautiful city to raise our young family. This summer we are setting off on a family adventure, and are looking for a cat-loving, responsible person or family to enjoy our peaceful home and keep our cat company. If you are considering this rental but are in any way worried about the Cat care involved, please do get in touch and we will be happy to discuss this. We are totally new to this platform so please forgive our low “trust rating“. Feel free to ask for references if this will help you proceed. Our house backs onto one of Cambridge’s best-loved central green spaces running along the River Cam, Stourbridge Common. Known for its gentle cows, huge skies, playground and misty mornings, walking or cycling out onto the river path feels like being in the countryside. Historic central Cambridge’s cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, colleges, departments and station are 25-35 min on foot, 5-10 min cycle, with speciality coffee/bakery Kerb Kollective right next door. The house has a fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast table, and a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. We have a tastefully decorated large living room, with an office nook with standing desk. The sunny dining room/ garden room doubles up as a nice space to work or read. The WiFi is excellent throughout. Upstairs is a family bathroom and 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom had a double bed and wardrobe space. In the second double bedroom we have a single bed and a pull out extra single, and a home working space with a desk and ergonomic chair. This is an is a great space to work or write as it gets lots of sunlight through the morning. Our son’s bedroom is the little single, with a children’s bed (suitable for ages 3-10) and an additional children’s mattress underneath. The large garden has a dining area and a sun bathing spot. We are lucky enough to have brilliant neighbours, who will happily lend a hand. We do ask that you are respectful in terms of noise and do not plan to host parties or make excessive noise outdoors after hours. It’s important you’re ok with cats - your stay ideally includes feeding, petting, offering an occasional lap to our sweet, loving, child-friendly cat Lola. Let us know if that's difficult and we can explore alternatives. Behind the house we have our own private off-road parking space for your use, and there’s the option to borrow our bikes too.
