I am renting my 1968 townhouse in the heart of the charming colonial Coyoacan neighborhood, in southern Mexico City. The house is three stories, with an open floor plan on the ground floor (dining room, living room and modern kitchen, with patios on either side.) The second floor has a master bedroom and bath, another bedroom with a single bed, a study with a pullout sofa and a second bathroom. The top floor has a large covered terrace on two sides, with views of the arboretum, a study and a laundry room. There is also parking for one car. The house is at the end of a cul-de-sac of just five houses, away from the bustle of Coyoacan, but walking distance from the Frida Kahlo House, Trotsky Museum, the colonial plaza and tons of charming cafes, shops, restaraunts and public transportation. It is a 20 minute drive or 25-minute bike ride from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and also from the Condesa, Roma and other hip neighborhoods further north. Despite being surrounded by one of the largest cities in the world, Coyoacán feels like a village, with cobble-stone, tree-lined streets and gorgeous colonial architecture. I am looking for someone who will appreciate the house and the neighborhood and treat it like it was their own while I´m on sabbatical for 7 months (with an option to extend for one more month at the end). Ideally, someone who is also on academic leave or just wants to explore Mexico City for a period of time. I came here for the first time as a journalist in 1995 and then moved here in 2000 and never left, because I can think of few places I´d rather live.

Comments: In the charming colonial neighborhood of Coyoacán, next to the Viveros arboretum (paradise for runners) and 6 blocks from the plaza. The house is very quiet and peaceful, but walking distance from cafes, restaurants and public transport.
